A private ADHD assessment provides a structured, evidence-based, and confidential pathway to diagnosis and treatment, often completed within weeks, offering clarity and professional guidance for your next steps.
An ADHD assessment offers much more than a diagnosis; it’s the first step toward clarity, personalized care, and lasting improvement in health, confidence, and quality of life.
Professionals differentiate ADHD from social media–induced attention problems through comprehensive history-taking, standardized diagnostic tools, and clinical judgment. ADHD is a neurological disorder, while attention issues from digital overuse are behavioral and situational, and often improve with lifestyle changes and therapy.
Yes, some people do not get diagnosed with ADHD after assessment. This doesn’t mean the assessment was wasted; rather, it provides clarity and direction. A proper evaluation distinguishes ADHD from other causes of inattention, ensuring that any treatment or support is accurate, safe, and effective.
Social media doesn’t cause ADHD, but heavy use can intensify attention difficulties and make ADHD symptoms more visible. Maintaining healthy screen habits helps protect focus, mood, and mental well-being, whether or not you have ADHD.
Yes, it’s entirely possible to have ADHD and not know it. Many adults go undiagnosed because their symptoms were overlooked, misinterpreted, or compensated for over time. Getting assessed can lead to better understanding, improved focus, and tailored treatment that makes daily life much easier.
If you meet the criteria for ADHD, you will be issued a GP Cardiovascular Examination Form after your consultation. You must book an appointment with your GP or a walk-in clinic to complete this mandatory physical health check before any medication can be prescribed.
Once your GP has completed the form, please email it to info@mediconline.ie.
When we receive your completed form, our consultant will review it.
If everything is normal, your prescription will be issued directly to your nominated pharmacy within 2 days.
The initial prescription is usually for 6 weeks.
In some cases, the consultant may issue a 4-week prescription if a shorter titration period is needed to monitor response, side effects, or risk.
You will need to email us to request a follow-up appointment after your initial 4- or 6-week titration period.
The follow-up is a 30-minute review, costing €120, during which the consultant will assess:
• your response to medication
• any side effects
• whether longer-term treatment or adjustments are needed.
Your diagnostic report will be available within one week of your assessment—often within just a few days.
